Toulouse, european capital of aeronautics and space
The fourth largest city in France, Toulouse is the home base of Europe’s largest companies specialising in aeronautics, space, electronics information technology and biotechnology.
Toulouse, together with Hamburg, is one of the two European centers chosen by Airbus for the design, assembly and testing of its range of planes such as the A380. Advanced aerospace technology is also represented by Thales Alenia Space (a branch of Alcatel’s satellite operations), and, in the field of observation satellites, by EADS Astrium.
Prestigious institutes and research centres are also located in Toulouse such as the CNES Toulouse Space Centre (CST). All these enterprises recruit from the numerous engineering schools in Toulouse: ICAM Toulouse, INSA Toulouse, ISAE, SUPAERO, ENAC, INP ENSEEIHT, INP ENSIACET, INP ENSAT, EPITECH, IPSA.
The information and communications technology sector, with companies including Atos, Capgemini, IBM, Osiatis, Sopra-Steria and CGI represents a great asset for this dynamic city.
